Pests this season seem to be limited to Aphids and Pill Bugs. The Aphids were controlled with Neem Oil and insecticidal soap that I mixed myself instead of buying premixed solutions at higher costs. Also lady bugs were released a few times.

My insecticidal soap mix is 1 oz Dr. Bronners Peppermint oil soap, 1 tbsp Garlic Powder, and 1tsp Cayenne pepper powder to 1 gal water. If heavy rain occurs after application the solution is washed off and needs to be re applied.

The Pill bugs are controlled by organic BT pellets. I also lift fruits like cucumbers off the ground and pile dead leaves under them until they ripen.

Only one Harlequin bug was seen on the Broccoli plants this year so far. Last year they were infested with these menaces and the only organic solution was to pick them off by hand.
