Unusually cooler weather in our region this spring has effected planting of some crops.
Spinach and Lettuce varieties are growing very well and we have been harvesting some of these
Spinach, lettuce and swiss chard are growing well
Broccoli, Cabbage, Radicchio, Red Kale are cool weather crops and also progressing well
Potatoes are also thriving in the cooler spring weather. They have been afflicted with pill bugs and leaf hoppers, but that has been controlled with Insectcidal soap
LeafHopper that landed on my shoe. These guys are fast and will flutter away when you brush the leaves of your plants. Multiple applications of Peppermint oil soap, garlic and hot pepper mixture, sprayed on the leaves are keeping them under control.
Tomatos are not doing so well, they were transplanted on a warm day followed a week of cold windy days
