Celebrating at home, we prepared New Year’s Eve dinner with Broccoli Rabe picked from the Roof top garden. With the warm weather the Broccoil Rabe started growing again and developed a lot of heads.

Freshly picked Broccoli Rabe

The Broccoli Rabe was chopped up finely including stems and blanched for 10 minutes in boiling water

After blanching the Broccoil Rabe was panfried in olive oil, garlic, red pepper seeds, chopped sun dried tomatoes, salt, pepper and Italian spices. Whole wheat Orrechette pasta was added in as stir fried at lower heat with some tomato sauce and white wine. Add splashes of water as the bottom dries out to keep the mix juicy
